Pastor Tunde Bakare has been trending in the past week for his usual penchant to embrace the limelight, even for the wrongest reasons.

The only pitiable aspect of Bakare’s matter is that he talks from the pulpit, God’s house, presumably, and with the claim of ‘speaking’ for God or under the motivation of God’s power of anointing and prophesy.

This latest from Bakare about the Igbo as cursed is not worth wasting time on for some reasons:

Tunde Bakare has no history of being factual, but a history of inconsistency and his personal grudges falsely presented as God’s words.

He said the Igbo are cursed for killing someone.
I may ask him: Was the entire Igbo, or did the entire Igbo conspire, decide and sent someone to kill someone that makes the person’s curse be on the entire Igbo race?
Where and how did Bakare get that aspect of his tale? He was 12 when that incident happened. So, was he one of the coupists in Kaduna that day, or can he refer us to the book he read that from?

But away from the above, let us look at Tunde Bakare through his ‘prophecies’ and understand better if he deserves any response from the Igbo, or the world takes him seriously. And here we go…

September 2019
“Take it to the mountain top if you have never heard it before. I am saying it to you this morning, in the scheme of things, as far as politics of Nigeria is concerned, President Buhari is number 15, and yours sincerely is number 16.” He said this placing his right on his chest and further…”To this end, I was born and for this purpose I came to the world. I have prepared for this for 30 years.”

March 7, 1999
‘Prophesied’ that Obasanjo, already president-elect will not be sworn in. “Obasanjo is not your Messiah. He is King Agag and the prophetic axe will fall upon his head before May 29.”

June 3, 2001
‘Prophesied’ that Obasanjo will die and be taken away from power.

Away from what he claims to be prophecies that have actually proven false, Bakare has manifestly shown himself very uncultured. Pa Enoch Adeboye, the leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently turned 80 years. Bakare is yet to clock 70, but contrary to Yoruba and African revered tradition, Bakare has a sport of insulting and deriding Pa Adeboye, his elder by 12+ years.

August 2021
He boldly to told the whole world that Bishop Oyedepo, leader of the Winners Chapel, is a noisemaker.

November 2009
He collectively rolled respected fellow preachers of the same gospel of the same Jesus Christ together and rubbished them without any regard for their personalities.
They were: Pastor William Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church; Pa Adeboye; and Bishop David Oyedepo.
That tirade escapade of his nearly polarised Christianity in Nigeria

January 2013
He insulted President Goodluck Jonathan for kneeling down at the altar of God at the RCCG Church camp ground. He said Jonathan belittled his office as president.

October 2021
He recanted and apologised to Pa Adeboye

August 2021
He admitted tearing a book by Oyedepo in public, claiming that Oyedepo wrote that anointing is not the symbol of the Holy Spirit

Accuser of the brethren
In so many references in the Old and New Testaments, the Bible constantly depicted a character as the ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN
I don’t know if Bakare takes notice of the tag and watches if he has taken or intends to take that ignoble position of the Accuser of the Brethren, posing as a prophet whom we have seen through what he is made of.

Inconsequential character
I want the Igbo to judge for themselves, if this is a character you would waste time and energy replying. He seems to live in the gutter and loves the mire. He would lose nothing pulling anybody still clean into the gutter to be mired like him.
Ignore Tunde Bakare. His malaise is himself and has nothing to do with the Igbo or any other character he targets in his vain salvos.
