PICTURES OF CONTINUED BLOOD BATH IN A EBONYI COMMUNITY

A major festival of blood is taking place right under our nose in the Southeastern state of Ebonyi.

Communal clashes between the Effium/Ezza-Effium people. Brothers and sisters k!ll!ng themselves. People being matcheted to death in a most brutal way.

According to the Punch Newspaper, just this past Sunday, April 10, 2022, not less than 26 persons, human beings who are mothers, fathers, sons and daughters and even children were butchered in an early morning attack on residents of Effium/Ezza-Effium community in Ohaukwu and part of Ebonyi L.G.As of Ebonyi state. (The war has also spilled to Izzi).

Other sources from the affected communities put the figures at far above 30.

And Sunday’s massacre isn’t an isolated case. The crises has been going on for long with some accusing the state govt of either taking side in the conflict or not showing enough political will to resolve the incessant bloodbath.

I understand this is election period and everyone, politicians and ordinary citizens alike, are focused on the next election but please, you don’t have to come from Ebonyi state, you don’t even have to be Igbo, kindly lend your voice in bringing this senseless killing to light as well as calling on the state governor David Nweze Umahi , President Muhammadu Buhari as well as The Nigeria Police Force to do more in bringing this mindless harvest of death to an end.
