Following the loss of its accreditation, construction work has resumed at the Abia State University College of Medicine following the intervention of the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

The project which consists of 300 bed capacity is being handled by Okey Technical Construction Company.

Recall that the Nigeria Universities Commission, NUC inspection team had recently visited the college and were denied access to it because workers were on strike. This cost the college its accreditation.

Three hundred bed space project at the College of Medicine and Medical Health Sciences in Aba when completed will among others reduce the issue of accommodation faced by Medical students of the Institution.
