Mr. Kalu Idika, a seasoned techocrat and career civil servant with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), says people have been asking him to contest the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State.
In an interview with Sunny Idika, The Whisperer publisher, the Ohafia Improvement Union Abuja Branch Vice President said “I am under severe pressure from groups, association and unions to join the governorship race in 2023.”
Idika, who is the Chairman of Kalu Idika Foundation told THE WHISPERER that he was consulting with relevant stakeholders across the state.
“Recently I met with members of Ohafia Progressives Assembly (OPA), a formidable political group in Ohafia; I’ve met with other groups in Abia Central and South,” Idika was quoted to have said in response to a question on the next election.
“People come to me every day saying they want me to join the guber race. I’m always moved to tears whenever I go out and see those I haven’t met before telling me to join the guber race,” he said.
