Coach Jose Peseiro insists Nigeria are superior to Ghana despite the Black Stars defeating the Super Eagles to secure qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
Peseiro, who was named Super Eagles coach following the play-off tie, asserts that Ghana’s victory over Nigeria was an accident.
Ghana and Nigeria in March rekindled their long-standing rivalry with a World Cup spot on the line and Black Stars triumphed.
The first leg ended in a goalless draw in Kumasi, but the second leg in Abuja saw two goals.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey put Ghana ahead with a well-taken strike from outside the box, but Nigeria responded through captain William Troost-Ekong, who scored a controversial penalty before halftime.

Ghana qualified on the away goals rule.
Augustine Eguavoen, who oversaw both games for Nigeria, was fired and replaced by Portuguese Peseiro, who believes the Super Eagles should have advanced to their fourth consecutive World Cup.
“I have a team with players who play in England, Italy, France, Spain, but unfortunately they didn’t beat Ghana to go to the World Cup,” Peseiro said as quoted by Pulse Nigeria.
“But I think it was an accident, I think Nigeria are better than Ghana,” he added.
Ghana will play Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the group stage of the World Cup.
